The Hematozoom are one of the parasites that cause the most frequent and widely distributed form of malaria benign in many species of pets. When we speak of parasites in the blood, we have two types, the microfilariae, or blood worms, and microorganisms, which are the true haematozoa.

Undoubtedly, diseases caused by haematozoa coming from pets have become commonplace in everyday clinical practice, becoming more frequent and acute day by day. This work was done with the aim of assessing their importance within the vast panorama of casuistry presented in a clinic.

In the city of Managua, Nicaragua took place a clinical study of 670 cases handled in the period of January to December 2015, and 790 clinical tests conducted from June 2014 to April 2016.

In Table 1 we see that the 51.39% of the conducted clinical analysis was to viral diseases (31.53%) and haematozoa (67.49%), of these, the most important was Ehrlichia canis with 54.68% of the total analysis and 150 cases confirmed positive (67.57%).

In Table 2 we see the distribution of clinical cases, noting that cases of Ehrlichiosis attended correspond to 9.67% of the total, becoming the second largest individual disease in the country after the Canine Influenza (14.43%).

There are few important studies about  E. canis in the Americas; and 16.5% of positive ehrlichiosis in dogs is the situation of canine ehrlichiosis in Peru (Adrianzen et al, 2003), in the state of Zulia in Venezuela 83.6% of positive cases in colored blood frotices (Arraga, 1992) was reported, and in Minas Gerais, Brazil has reported 16% of ehrlichiosis (Moreira et al., 2002).

Obviously, this tells us clearly that we must give greater importance to combating tick disease in dogs, spreading the owners of pets the risk of acquiring this disease and how to prevent them, and the need for regular checkups and blood tests to determine if they have acquired it.
